Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. – LJUNGSTRÖM has completed the heavy erection installation for a contract awarded by GE Power for the supply and delivery of a Tail-End DeNOx Ljungstrom® Gas-gas heater (GGH) for the ZW Nowa Power Plant; a 150-megawatt coal and heat plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland.

This contract, for the retrofit of the existing five OPG-230 boilers, will introduce performance improvements and emission reduction in order to meet more demanding regulations on NOx emission. The ZW Nowa installation, with GE’s own patented semi-dry NID ™ modules, will treat 1.600.000 Nm3/h of flue gas and will be one of the biggest semi-dry FGD installations ever built in Europe.

Project execution was performed primarily in Heidelberg, Germany, with components being supplied through LJUNGSTRÖM’s European supply chain.

"LJUNGSTRÖM is proud to be partner of GE Power," said LJUNGSTRÖM Heidelberg Unit Managing Director, Dennis Yilmazoez. “This contract represents a larger-scale and diverse effort to meet the new emission standards that Europe has defined for emissions generated by electric energy and heat generation processes.”
